Dr. Paul outlines the gathering perfect storm fomented by the federal government as a result of our multiple wars, banker bailouts, and reckless devaluing of the Dollar via the FEDERAL RESERVE. Yet as the litany of problems spiral out of control, politicians in the District of Columbia remain content to meddle even further into areas never intended by the Founding Generation. As consequence, their blatant disregard for the Constitution as outdated reference manual in lieu of the Supreme Law of the Land ensures the unintended consequences of their actions will expand government further beyond its proper role of preventing/prosecuting acts of violence, fraud, and the equal enforcement of contracts.
Thus, as Representative Ron Paul explains, the burdensome laws outside the aforementioned scope suffocate the ability of the people and communities to formulate practical solutions unique to their circumstances.
Global warming alarmists want Americans to believe that humans are killing the planet. But Not Evil Just Wrong, a new documentary by Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, proves that the only threats to America (and the rest of the world) are the fl awed science and sky-is-falling rhetoric of Al Gore and his allies in environmental extremism. The film warns Americans that their jobs, middle-class lifestyles and dreams for their children will be destroyed if the government rushes to judgment and imposes job-killing regulations on an economy already mired in recession.
Not Evil Just Wrong exposes the deceptions about global warming that scientists, politicians, educators and the media have been force-feeding the public for years, including fear-mongering about floods and dying polar bears. The documentary shows how environmentalists are pushing the same kind of anti-human propaganda that triggered a ban DDT and condemned millions of children to death by malaria, a story recounted in the documentary. Not Evil Just Wrong asks: Is carbon dioxide the new DDT and are we taking the same risks with our future?

CAMPAIGN for LIBERTY OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Dr. Paul discusses the NPRK’s detonation of an atomic device and how they achieved that technology using subsidies from the Clinton Administration.
When I was little I recall my first exposure to our Founding Fathers some where around the 2nd grade just before Thanksgiving of that year. We covered a very basic watered down version of the “1st Thanksgiving” and “Revolutionary War”. The memory that sticks out most in my mind is that our nation, America, was the first place where the individual was to be the standard bearer of liberty and not controlled by kings or a state-church. That in order to protect us from the designs and ambitions of future kings, the Founders wrote two documents, The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. This “Cliffnotes” version of our country coupled with heavy doses of ABC’s Saturday morning Schoolhouse Rockinstilled in me a deep infatuation and love affair with the noble ideal that was to be the American Republic.
Granted in second grade my comprehension of all of this was severely limited, thus proven by me thinking Thomas Jefferson was an African-American and then wondering why it took so long for baseball to let a black man play in the major leagues??? My ignorant bliss would not last, time passed and as one dug beneath the surface, Lady Liberty had more than her fair share of bruises. From the slaughtering of Native Americans, to the utter hypocrisy of slavery in a nation where all men were supposedly equal, to women’s suffrage, etc. Despite all of this, the enthusiasm in how my teacher told the stories must have been contagious. Her eyes would get big as she excitedly explained the “Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” and President Washington’s Crossing of the Delaware River.
Nevertheless, little by little as I dug through the cobwebs of our history it became apparent, that those Kings our Constitution was intended to protect us against, never gave up their fight to reassert their so called aristocratic “divine right”. That even while America has attempted to right the wholly unjust policy of slavery, that we as women are now considered “equal”, the pull-peddling Aristocrats who sought out power, repeatedly picked at the parchment, the ideals, the philosophy of individual liberty, until it was a mere shadow of a document, left only in memoriam, no longer applicable in a “post 9/11 world”.
They set up “opposing methods” to an aristocratic philosophy and called them “political parties”. The philosophy is socialism under the guise of freedom. The “Democrats” believe in social engineering and wholly indebting individuals to the state in the form of social welfare programs.
Republicans set out to prove their methodology via conquest and military occupation. Now let it be known their labels have switched and have been interchanged several times, from federalists, to progressives, to liberals, to conservatives. However the end to their pandering has always remained the same, centralized control of their “subjects”.
Somewhere along the line, they rediscovered the best way to gain more power, a method as old as humanity itself; divide and conquer. These “politicians”, from the Latin (poli) meaning “many” and (tics) meaning “Blood sucking creatures”, began an appeal to an individual’s core sense of fairness. The politicians promised to right whatever problem was most pressing to them as a demographic, in exchange of course, for a vote for the pull-peddler. No matter the cause, from retirement, education, to saving the trees, to homelessness, to healthcare, the politician promised a centralized cure to their ailment. Yet the politician was not done, they imbued the particular demographic of the moment with the notion that this group cause was superior to any and all other causes, and thus demanded, as well as justified the legal use of force, i.e. government coercion, i.e. the trampling of others rights in order to achieve its end. Slowly the country’s philosophy began to change from “live and let live”, whence unless an individual suffered from harm to themselves or property, to a nation that believed they are “entitled to trample” for the benefit of the group, dissenting opinion be damned. This my fellow readers is the root to collectivism, the division of individual Americans into neat little “people groups”.
One need not look too hard in order to find how the pull peddlers craft a strategy and coral these “people groups” into election campaign pawns to be used and cast aside. No just look at the groups up for grabs this most recent cycle. Democrats hoped to embolden the LGBT community, anti-war activists, and Hispanics with promises of the “Big Rock candy Mountain” while Republicans returned to the well for evangelical Christians, Hispanics, and business men, with “both” using the same old scare tactics of gays and terrorists. Politicians promised “change” spoken with cryptic vaguery, national security from an invisible boogeyman, “free” healthcare from a financially bankrupt Treasury Department, civil unions to create separate but equal distinctions, war to protect us from war, and an end to war, yet more saber rattling to a new enemy “Iran”, energy independence via a 19th century technology, all in the ruthless support of their continued power. We the sheeple have been sold a bill of goods by the Washington D.C. Snake oil Salesmen. How much longer shall we suffer this incremental despotism?
I often think…who would want to be a politician? According to the definitions below, it seems to me, that only a “Power Hungry” person would sign up for this gig. As I watch the debates and read stories about the Presidential and Vice-Presidential nominees, I have to wonder what kind of person “signs up” for the spotlight, the power, the decision-making, and the almost inevitable involvement in some sort of scandal.
Are we too judgmental of our politicians? Do we forget that they are human and make mistakes? Or is it that we have seen the damage of the past and present that these people in power have made? I get frustrated at the fact that there is so much that we don’t know about what really goes on in Washington. I mean, we are supposed to trust these elected officials that “we” voted for and then I am often disappointed in the outcomes. I realize there are barriers to getting “the job done”, but, I seem to have lost hope in our Politicians. I am still waiting for one to prove me wrong…

Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), Senator Joe Biden (D-CT) and their surrogates are still running around the country waging their “vote me and get freebies”, promising universal heathcare for all Americans. Just today former DNC Chairman and Clintonite, Terry “smarmy used car-salesman” McAuliffe was in Williamsburg, Virginia extolling the virtues of Senator Obama’s government heathcare bonanza1. It would appear that Senator Obama is audacious not only when it comes to hope, but also in his willingness to subject voters to a factual denial of reality.
Let us however, not misconstrue my analysis of Senator Obama’s healthcare buffet is in any way an endorsement of Senator McCain (R-AZ). It is my opinion that Senator McCain’s silence on the issue is wholly predicated on the fact that this former prisoner of war consistenly votes against veterans and veterans benefits such as Senate Amendment 3704 – 109th Congress, a bill to provide an additional $20 million in health benefits2.
Fact of the matter is, we are bankrupt from current benefits due on current government programs such as Social Security/Medicare3. Additionally, let us also not forget this most recent Wall Street bailout, as well as the additional bailouts yet to come. Nevertheless, politicians cannot wait to promise us “universal health care” as the pensions evaporate, 401k’s implode, and talk of economic depression abounds.
Do we realize that centralized planning has failed us time and time again? We only need to look at how those who already receive “Free Universal Healthcare” are treated and the quality of service they receive, namely our veterans. The following video is absolutely unacceptable and a disgrace to our nation. Is this the Republican’s idea of supporting our troops? After watching the video, ask yourself how good “free” healthcare would be for the rest of us, if this is the quality of service provided to those who are willing to pay the ultimate price…
So let us do the math, less than 3%4 (less than 9,000,000 Americans) of the U.S. population is either a veteran or active member of the Armed Services. At 3%, the government fails to provide quality care, so how good would the service be if the government decides to try and cover all 300 million plus Americans?
If that makes you mad, just phone your Representative and Senators and ask them about how we as taxpayers fund their AAA rated PRIVATE insurance policies via our paycheck withholding and income taxes. So how does it feel knowing we toil our labor so the Aristocracy can continue their privileged lives up on the hill? How does it feel to know that our toil also bails out the criminal Plutocratic Oligarchs on Wall Street?
What are “we the people” left with after these scoundrels plunder our tax dollars on benefits for themselves and associates?
Promises. All we receive is pandering to our inner sense of fairness, and empty promises. When will we realize their is no difference in the core beliefs of either Democrats or Republicans? The only difference is in their elections strategies, but make no mistake, they both think of themselves as entitled, and we as their indentured economic servants.
Policy wonk portion of post continues below…
So since we know how poorly veterans health care is, does this mean we should grin and bear it when health care received from “universal health care” is second rate? Why should one individual be held accountable for someone who freely decides to eat fried food all of their life and then needs a heart transplant by forty or fifty? Moreover, why should someone else pay for my own personal choice to smoke? It is my responsibility to pay my own higher policy premiums for freely making that choice. Should any of us pay for the individual on the motorcycle who refuses to wear a helmet and gets into an accident? Of course not. They are free in my opinion not to wear a helmet, however please do not expect the rest of us to pick up the tab for what amounts to an irresponsible free choice.
The fact is health care costs are spiraling out of control due to government interference, not from the lack thereof. Insurance costs began truly escalating after passage of the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 19735. This created HMO’s, exempted Federally Certified HMO’s from state regulations and mandated that employers with more than 25 employees provide Federally Certified HMO’s to their employees. (nice catch-22 – huh?)
The problem with government mandates is that they cause more problems than good, simply because of the broad nature in which they must be applied.
For instance, the “group” premium is how employers decide how much to charge employees for their insurance. So if good old John Smith suffers a couple of heart attacks, Jimmy Whatnot has cirrhosis of the liver from lifelong alcohol abuse, and Jane Smith needs prenatal care, all employees must absorb the additional use of the policy through higher premiums, which then equals smaller paychecks. Moreover, let us not even go into how mandated coverage provides an incentive for employers to “lay-off” or “fire” employees who are in their 40′s and 50′s. It is an unintended consequence of the government mandate.
Private policies only effect direct beneficiaries upon their use of the policy. Additionally, each employee would then receive about $5- $10k more in gross salary from their employers annually. As it is important to note that real wages are calculated by adding the cumulative cost of employer paid taxes, benefits (401k, insurance, etc) as well as actual monies paid in salary in dictating how much an employer can afford to offer as direct salary to potential and current employees. Thus the net gain from an employee providing their own insurance in lieu of employer mandated coverage works out to be approximately $2,300 to $3,600, after paying for their private policy.
It is a huge misnomer that private insurance is somehow too expensive. The simple fact is that individuals can obtain an Medical Savings Account and catastrophic policy for their entire family for less than half on average of what the bloated policy from their employer would provide. Policies like this cover hospital and emergency room visits and allow for a percentage of wages to be set aside tax free as long as they are spent on health services. Yes it takes work to tweak the policy, but god love the internet and someone with the slightest bit of gumption can accomplish this in a few hours.
So what about prescription drugs? Again keeping with the philosophy individuals need to take responsibility for their own and families health first, all of the evil, greedy pharmaceutical corporations offer prescription assistance, whereby some individuals will receive their medicine for no cost while some will pay a reduced rate for their medicine from the manufacturer. Again this takes some leg work in calling the pharmaceutical companies and getting in touch with the representative to walk one through the process. However, the net gain is worth the extra effort in my opinion.
Moreover, many of the major pharmaceutical companies now belong to the “Partnership for Prescription Assistance” which has made the process even that much easier.
In the end big government does not work, and more government to fix the last problem created in and of itself by government will not work either. We must indeed take responsibility for our own families first. Because if we as individuals do not feel our own health is our responsibility, then please explain to me why insuring and inanimate object like a vehicle would be. Do we not also then have a “fundamental right” to basic motorized transportation?

Consider, for a moment, that the financial deficit we are suffering currently has a reasonable and logical cause. Let’s just say that it is something we have been amply aware of, yet at the same time, unwilling to recognize. It reminds me of a woman who will ignore the ever-growing lump in her breast for fear that it may be cancer. That lump, though it may be completely benign, may very well be the devastating end of her existence if she continues to believe that it will go away if her denial is strong enough. The logistics of history dictate that the purposeful ignorance of a blatant fact does nothing but exacerbate its negative effects.
We, as a nation, have allowed the rampant abuse of our economy. We stand aside as our social security benefits are raped, our tax dollars are increased, and our interest rates skyrocket to the point that they outweigh even the original sum we’ve borrowed–but why? The answer is as simple as a weekly breast exam in the shower and as rare:
We ignore these things because as long as McDonald’s has a dollar menu, and as long as NBC carries “Must see TV”, and as long as our politicians nod their heads and contradict themselves at every turn with whatever is more comforting than the last lie they coughed up on the dinner table of the American dream, we will swallow it. If we devote ourselves to superstition and refuse to acknowledge the things that make us afraid, they will not exist. The problem is–they do exist.
We have been ignoring our problems for so long that they are starting to become ‘right now’ instead of ‘some day’. Perhaps, if nothing else, the fact that our economy is being seen worldwide for the gilded, cheap, and disintegrating piece of trash that it is will force some sense into the populace. That is, at least until the next episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”
