At an October 12th town hall meeting in Greensboro, South Carolina, Senator Lindsey Graham (R) accused Representative Ron Paul of ‘hijacking’ the Republican Party, stating:

“I’m going to grow this party. I’m not going to let it be hijacked by Ron Paul”,

The Senator’s terse tone a result of hecklers in the meeting chastising the former supporter of John McCain’s abysmal failure of a presidential bid, for voting in support of banker bailouts via the TARP program, as well as his support for extending the PATRIOT Act and President Obama’s troop surge in Afghanistan.

However, my view differs greatly with that of Senator Graham’s. Where he sees a “hijacking”, I see liberation from a party occupied for far too long by insurgent Whigs, perhaps the 2.0 variety, but Whigs nonetheless.

After all, today’s so-called “mainstream republicans” are just are just as backwards with their perpetual warmongering, chicken hawk imperialism, banker bailout, torture-apologist agenda, as were their predecessors; Whigs 1.0 from the 19th century in their support of denying inherent liberties to African-Americans via the promulgation and expansion of slavery.

As such, never failing to parallel their political coverage to a style more befitting of a magazine show like “Extra”, (think Election Day holograms) CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and his merry panel of peanut-gallery talking heads invited Representative Ron Paul into ‘The Situation room” Wednesday evening. Practically salivating for an attempt to degrade the issue into a worthless petty verbal dispute, host Wolf Blitzer sophomorically began by asking Dr. Paul for his “reaction”.

Always the statesman more concerned with principle, Dr. Paul pulled the debate back between working to support the Constitution, or further allowing the status quo to persist with its utter disregard for one of our most cherished founding documents. In consequence to the tone set by Mr. Blitzer, the other commentator/old-media journalists could not seem to structure a question without first displaying a philosophical bias for government to intervene in as many areas of our lives as possible.

The only exception to the vacuous line of dribble was Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post. So kudos to her for demonstrating some new-media moxy soliciting Representative Ron Paul’s opinion on the true issues at hand like the never-ending war in Afghanistan.

Rogue police officers have metastasized the once noble profession of peace officer into the cancerous front line of tyranny. This most pressing problem calls no region home as incidents of their repugnant brutality continue to escalate from coast-to-coast.¹ Shamefully, the issue of police brutality was largely ignored for decades when seemingly confined to the African-American community, as blacks were routinely stereotyped as drug-dealing gang-members. However, thanks to tireless efforts of grassroots groups and the advent of video-sharing sites, the problem has obviously reached critical mass and illustrates once again why stereotypes fail repeatedly to produce accurate descriptors of politically convenient “people groups”.

Fortunately, organizations such as “Oath Keepers” are seeking to reclaim their profession from their jackbooted counterparts.² Founded by Stewart Rhodes, a former U.S. Army paratrooper, the group’s mission statement is:

…a non-partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, peace officers, and firefighters who will fulfill the oath we swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

The linchpin to members of “Oath Keepers” is the public Declaration of Orders members will not obey. Unfortunately, and in spite of the excellent yet difficult work of organizations such as “Oath Keepers”, a seemingly never-ending stream of egregious deplorable actions by the cancerous rogues in law-enforcement are finding their ways to the headlines and video sharing sites throughout the burgeoning new-media. Incidents such as the harassment of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr and Cambridge police officer James Crowley³ acutely illustrate that it is less about race and more about the insidious belief system of “police-supremacy”. Whereby regardless of the law or an individual’s inherent liberties, rogue-police continually exhibit a severely demented “god complex” and feel their ego threatened even when the rogue officer is obviously in the wrong.

Additionally, citizens are no longer safe from rogue police thuggery when exercising their inalienable right to cover and report on actions of the state in their role as “citizen journalist”. The rogue officers routinely and illegally confiscate camera’s of citizen journalists⁴, erasing footage or attempting massive detainment of citizens who may or may not have recorded footage of their jackboot tactics via camera phones.

With the proliferation of the State’s surveillance apparatus, government’s agents of tyranny expect to pry into every facet of our lives will shielding their own treasonous actions against the people. Laughably, their wholly incorrect belief that we shall cower like sheep and obey their unlawful orders to cease filming their abhorrent actions as if ‘We the People’ are the ones guilty, must continue to be challenged at each and every opportunity.

Perhaps one of the most extreme examples of “rogue police gone wild” is the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) New Year’s Day execution of Oscar Grant. Mr. Grant⁵ was the victim of a fight which BART police were called to investigate. Several Bystanders quickly began recording the deteriorating situation on their cellular phones, never considering that their phones would record the execution of an unarmed subdued citizen. Tragically, the video shows how two rogue officers restrained Mr. Grant shoving his face into the Fruitvale station platform. Rogue Officer Johannes Mehserle then rises to his feet, draws his firearm, and fatally shoots Mr. Grant once in the back.

Most unfortunately however, as the hour-long video illustrates below, there is no shortage of rogue police activity. Moreover, search engines return pages of results of rogue cops tazering the elderly⁶, the injured⁷, the young⁸, and the mentally disabled⁹.

These actions must no longer be tolerated; we must demand the cancer of rogue officers be excised from the ranks of law-enforcement thereby restoring it to the honorable profession of peace officer, existing solely to serve the community. The sick masochistic inclinations of the rogue jackboots that violate basic inherent rights must be held to account, lest we allow their influence to further infect this Republic.

In what may be seen as a move to stave of the exodus of viewers, old-media cable news outlet MSNBC attempted to further enrage passions surrounding the debate over government health care. In a clip that quickly found its way to YouTube, an MSNBC intro piece showed a man attending a protest outside of President Obama’s health care rally in Phoenix, Arizona armed with an AR-15 rifle. The heavily edited and purposely cropped video then gave way to host Contessa Brewer who transparently opined:

“There are questions whether this [health care town hall protests] have racial overtones. Here you have a man of color in the Presidency with white people showing up with guns.”

Unfortunately for Ms. Brewer, her attempt at further entrenching divisions amongst Americans is revealed to be nothing more than a poorly constructed attempt at race-baiting; the original unedited video clearly shows the man to whom Ms. Brewer’s comments reference is African-American.

Attempts to contact both the MSNBC newsroom and Ms. Brewer for comment have thus far gone unanswered. Moreover, with the old-media’s first attempts at promulgating that the town hall protests were “staged” it is growing ever clearer that the old-media’s faux “journalists” are now seeking to go down a much more unethical and shameful road of inflaming racial tensions.
