- Ad rates and availability are subject to change.
- All ads must be visually appealing and are subject to editorial review.
- No overuse of caps and no over use of specials characters (!*@, etc.) will be accepted.
- We reserve the right to refuse any advertising or ad campaign at our discretion with out explanation.
- Ad rates are based on prepayment. As such, all advertising must be paid in full, in advance of any ad run.
- Due to the nature of advertising, we can not provide guarantees on results, nor do we provide refunds.
- Payment is accepted by PayPal, credit card via PayPal, or by check. Ads purchased by check will not begin their run until the check has been received and cleared.

The Smoking Argus’ mission is to cover and offer commentary on political stories the mainstream media cannot or will not cover. Our number one goal is to help keep our fellow Americans informed about those who seek public office and the power therein.

- For ads hosted by 3rd party, redirect tags must be supplied.
- Flash files must be accompanied with click-through URL as well as a back-up image file.
- Flash ads must be in .swf format and coded with a proper clickTAG:
- Click-through functions must use the “Get URL” command. The action script code needed for the button layer in your Flash file should look exactly as it does below.

IMPORTANT: The click action button should be in top layer of Flash code so that the banner clicks through properly. This code is mandatory to allow OAS to track clicks for the campaign.
Expanding Ads:
- Expanding ad must be hosted by a 3rd party.
- All expanding ads MUST be user initiated.
- The expanded portion of the ad MUST automatically close once the user’s cursor moves off the ad.
- Expanding ads MUST have a prominent “CLOSE X” button on the expanded portion of the ad.
- 878×90 ads must expand down; Max expandable size: 87×360.
Video Banner Ads:
- Advertiser must host the video on a server.
- Advertiser must provide The Smoking Argus with .swf file, meeting all specs listed above.
- SWF file should include a call to the server to play the video.
- Any sound MUST be user initiated by a click.
