Is Todd Palin too Close to Governor’s Decision Making Process?

An article by the Associated Press, written by Matt Apuzzo, talks about the situations in which Todd Palin, Governor Palin’s husband, has been much too involved with her top state officials regarding family matters.  A quote from the article reads:

“Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, is the focus of a legislative investigation into whether she abused her authority by firing the state’s public safety commissioner to settle a long-standing family dispute.”1

If her husband is already taking advantage of his wife’s authority on the state level, what will he be like at the Federal level?  The article claims Governor Palin was “in the dark” about these occurrences.  If she can’t keep her own husband in check and doesn’t know what’s going on with him, how is she going to be as a Vice-President?  Turn a blind-eye to McCain?  Will she let her husband, Todd,  make decisions with state officials without her knowledge?  This is not his place.  Will he know his role as husband to the Vice President of the United States of America if she were to win?

Women’s roles as leaders in politics are evolving everyday, in some very good ways, and I support that as a woman. Spouses of leaders should be treated equally. Whether they are wives or husbands, they are still the spouse.

I just think we need to learn a little more about this man and how he’s dealing with his wife being in charge.
